called what? you continue to ignore one of the major factors in derailing the season. where's your criticism of that shit stirring austrian cunt? the same cunt who never lifted a finger during his time playing for bilic, and is doing his best to get another sacked? you talk like it's a simple game, walk in to a club and get instant results. I read the same stuff on the bilic out threads, like changing the manager is all that's needed. you also never question the owners, years of shit recruiting always leaving us short in key areas like central midfield, central defence, fullback and goalscorers. having plenty of bodies doesn't equal a great squad, but it doesn't really matter how much they spend because they don't have a clue. i said on those bilic threads that ferguson would struggle to succeed under these owners. this 'best squad ever' you keep going on about was lazy under allardyce, bilic, moyes and pellegrini

TM, you have the hump cos I called this months ago when we were flying, end of! If not a motivated Arnie then maybe another striker? FFS! We have the best squad we've had in years (by a country mile) we also have one of the laziest, one of these is due to the owners, the other the manager, can you work out which is which? 4-4 fuckin 2 again, really?

what's going to motivate him? another 50k a week, maybe 100k more? they've already tried to motivate him and he's done fuck all for months. open your eyes and see the same problems exist year in, year out with the symbolic owners we have. it doesn't matter how much they spend, who they employ, it never fucking changes

You can't build from the front unless you have an unlimited budget, our front 4 next season of Lanzini, Anderson, Yarmelenko and a motivated Arnie are about as it good as it's ever going to get for us anyway. The problem for us is the other end of he pitch, getting players to do the dirty work, spending hours on defensive drills, making us hard to beat, I'm sorry but with Pell that ain't never gonna happen and if he stays Fabianski is nailed on HOTY for the forseeable future. I've said it all along, he's a fairytale manager with absolutely no substance, if the opposition are prepared to work their nuts off we're fucked, maybe that's the price to pay for some attractive football & maybe it's the best we can hope for?

What the fuck was that team he picked today?
He should be given the rest of the season to show he isn't senile, plus can get us organised and playing from the start.
Or fuck him off because we cannot afford a start to next season like this one.

5 clean sheets all season. only Fulham have less. That’s all you need to know that Pellegrini isn’t up to the job, for all the nice football we’ve played this season that’s a damning statistic that can’t be ignored.

Picked the wrong team for the last two matches, got out of jail v Huddersfield, no way back v Everton. Needs investment in the summer to back him, will not happen with the two bobs, can see the LS becoming a white elephant soon u less they fuck off the two Bob cunts!

To be fair to Pellegrini the one positive I'll give him ahead of an Allardyce or Moyes is that he is trying to play football and when things have clicked it is as good to watch as what we have seen for years.
However whilst that is a positive he at the moment has too many negatives that he needs to sort out. Two up top just doesn't work with the players that we have which is a shame in many ways because Hernandez is far better in a two I don't think anyone can argue that. He also is stubborn in not recognising that as I can't for the life of me think we can see what he cannot.
He also is not at the moment learning from his mistakes. Tactically like the 442 experiment above he is either stubborn or naive, goals conceded at set pieces has not been rectified and we are constantly out of the traps slower that a tortoise, also an issue that has plagued us all season and beyond.
My biggest concern however is that he doesn't seem to be improving players which is all part of being a coach. Ok I give him Rice but I think most of that is down to the lad himself, but others have either stagnated or gone backwards. Moyes wasn't my cup of tea but he got the best out of Arnautovic and possibly one or two others but as of yet I can't see any who have improved this year. Grady especially had a dream start but was very raw and a few months down the line I don't see an improvement. If you don't have the players it's down to a coach to improve those you have.

I get it that we are going to lose games, and be inconsistent, and play poorly at times. But we need to give ourselves a fighting chance by picking the right lineup as often as possible. Everyone could see Perez was the wrong choice, and he played exactly as everyone expected he would. Same with Carroll earlier in the season.
Pelligrini has obviously got this stubborn streak to him, and refuses to be proven wrong, much to the detriment of the club. I’m getting fed up with it - it happens too often.

Hairy,
You're right it's pointless comparing but someone started a thread doing just that and I was just giving a balanced opinion saying that Pellegrini will always be under the microscope due to social media so his bad performances will be highlighted more than JL's.
Lyall's achievements in winning cups was brilliant but it's harder for 2nd division clubs and smaller clubs in general to do it now than it was back in the day where Wimbledon, Coventry etc were doing it. The big 6 seem to have a monopoly on not only the league but the cups as well.

Swindon
You are absolutely right social media would have slaughtered Lyall and yes it is The Pels first season at West ham. I just think that John Lyall's name should not be used as a prop to any other manager who becomes our manager, and I know it is out of respect but John Lyall was John Lyall and Pelegrini is Pelegrini the only way you can start to compare them in any way is when we win something .

HairyHammer,
the difference is Lyall had 15 seasons while Pellegrini is in his first.
No one is taking away what JL achieved but at the same time he would be under the same scrutiny and questioning after a bad performance if social media had been around back then.
I am not sure whether Pellegrini is the long term answer (probably not at his age) but the club are going to have to start identifying someone who will be given a long term project to get the club in order because otherwise it will just be a change every 18 months and any comparison with John Lyall will be dormant whoever comes in because they won't be given the time to stabilise and build.

Swindon, Fair points maybe the fact I was 20 when he was sacked meant my youth gives me those rose tinted specs but from what I can remember he was Mr West Ham to me and despite two relegations I was devastated when he left. Two relegations fair enough but also two FA Cup wins, a League Cup Final and a Cup Winners Cup Final which is three Cup Finals more than we have managed in the 30 odd years since the Club sacked him.
Some of his buys were suspect and didn't work out but I bet he brought in far more good players than bad, something of a trend recent managers seem to have reversed. I mean bloody hell 35 odd years since 1985/86 and probably the only player we have now that I would stick in that side would be Rice for Orr. I'd even have half of that 88 team that got relegated ahead of what we have now!!!!

Two FA cups a European cup final and 3rd in the old first division one of the FA cups we won we were second division Champions. Pelegrini is no South American John Lyall. John Lyall will always stand alone and no one should be allowed to think differently, he was fantastic for West ham and the more you look at what has happened in almost 30 years since he left the club you cannot help but think John Lyall was a bit of a genius, yes we were yo yoing and yes we lost far too many games and the football sometimes was terrible as well as fantastic, but we achieved so much and that is the difference.

Let's hope Leeds don't make it, so that we can nick Bielsa. We've had two managers in a row with a LAISSEZ FAIRE attitude to training, and it shows. Bielsa is ruthless, and a bit of a genius (IQ 185) by all accounts.
